I’M YOUR AUDIO TECH
Posted by: | Comments
Juan Atkins (the man behind Cybotron, Model 500, Infiniti, etc.) dropped this amazing 12″ under the alias Audio Tech on Express Records. Amazing early Detroit techno. Sorry for the few clicks and pops…my copy has seen better days.

Defrag have a very short and very sweet video interview with Slick, conducted at X-Large Japan.
This is a pretty solid reminder that I’ve to go and sort myself out with some new Slick shirts from his amazing online shop, as I fucked my last shirt in the laundry a couple of years back. The curious photo above was taken in the UK circa 1990 apparently… fresh!

Posted by: | CommentsIf you missed Grampian Mountains (Point To C) System Pulley’ mix that he posted here last month, dig back a few pages… Better yet, It’s been featured on this week’s Solid Steel! Along with mixes from DK & Neotropic.
“Solid Steel in association with Serato (5th March) This week DK returns with a trawl through the digital inbox and catches up on some recent and upcoming releases. We kick off once again with the excellent Warrior One remix of ‘Eyesdown’ by Bonobo and continue in a leftfield uptempo groove with Martyn, Joy Orbison and Octa Push, before dropping the huge bomb that is the Nero mix of ‘Sincere’. More bass heavy beats follow before dropping down with new material from the great Gil Scott-Heron, Jay Electronica and the original from Billy Stewart. It’s a west London shuffle with 2000 black on the remix for Ty and Seiji mixing it with Jern Eye. Classics from Tom Tom Club and Donald Banks along with some Afrobeat flavours bring the first hour to a close.
Hour 2 starts with Point to C and their System Pulley mix and it’s his usual subtle brilliance, brimming with off kilter neck snappers and low slung rumblers, all mixed with typical surgical precision and attention to detail. Autechre, APC and Tortoise all line up in the mix.
To finish the show, we welcome back Neotropic. With a new album called ‘Equestrienne‘ in the shops, we hear LP tracks alongside more of her own productions of beautiful electronic sound scapes.”
