GODFATHER OF CHOLO STYLE LETTERS
Wowee, so I finally got around to gettin’ Subway Art: 25th Anniversary Edition. 1984, my boy Rick One (LA Bomb Squad, K2S) brought Subway Art to art class one day back in High School, and at that point I just had to have it. So yeah…25 years ago I was scurrying around all the bookstores in LA to find it, finally found it in West LA somewhere. They had one left at that bookstore and I snatched it up, I can remember the smell of it, the feel of it! Nowadays graff books and mags are everywhere, but Subway Art was and is THE bible of graffiti. I would stare at it, and scour thru it for hours trying to soak it all in.
This 25th Anniversary Edition is hot! New pics in addition to the og ones, and how about the 16.8×11.7 size! Now all I need is a coffee table. Sorry for the blurry pics..
Gotta get my hands on a piece from parla. -F
25th!!! Crazy… Still remember the day i copped this. Made me all warm inside.
“Find yourself..” speak on it big homie.
Here’s a straight burner by my long time friend Rick One and the K2S/STN Crew..
Our buddy Slick sent me a pic of His New Toy the other day, looks as though he was working on his hand styles. Looks fun, Slick, you gotta let me on that when I’m in your area. I’ll try not to spill any booze on it.
