My Graff 15 Minutes (Tough Guys, 1986)

Posted by: crookone | Comments (1)

I had my little graff 15 minutes (or should I say 15 nano seconds?) of fame back in 1986. Below is a tag I caught at the Radiotron that happened to end up in the movie Tough Guys . Kind of embarrassing to point out actually..when you look at (and compare handstyles with) some of the other names on the walls along side it. L.A. graff pioneers: Risco, Shandu, (LA Bomb Squad), Geo R.I.P. (TWA), Crime aka Rick One, Prime, Cartoon (K2S). Although my graff years were brief, I had the privilege of growing up and meeting people in this era back when there were still things to discover and it was all for the taking. These names are now legendary in the art and graff community. I met and kicked it a few brief times with Prime and Geo back in the day… and Rick One, who I still keep in touch with to this day, actually gave me the name Crook in 1985.
